Working from home now means I can walk down to the Kingston Foreshore every now and then for lunch. Coconine Thai has a good lunch specials menu with prices between the $12-$16 mark.

The laksa, with chicken or tofu, ($15) has three types noodles included – egg noodles, flat thick rice flour noodles, and crunchy noodles on top. It doesn’t have the same taste as a Malaysian laksa, as it’s sweeter but is still pretty darn good.

Coconine’s chicken pad thai ($12) is topped up on a large plate and there’s such a generous serve provided.

The beef massaman curry with rice ($14.80) comes out as a bigger portion than expected. Lots of sauce, tender beef that pulls apart easily, and heaps of rice. I wasn’t able to finish it off.

Great value for money and there’s so much to try. We think we might go down once a week to try a different lunch special each time.

Coconine are also introducing some new drinks for spring/summer. Here’s the Magic Galaxy with blossom pea and lemon juice.
