If you’re up for a short drive away from the ACT, check out Little Sutton Bakery in Sutton NSW. I have no idea what it was like before, but they have obviously renovated and the place looks great. There are fresh breads baked daily, freshly baked hot pies (the pie menu is on the wall) at decent prices, sandwiches and baguettes using their own bread, and some sweet treats!

I order the pepper steak pie and love the real big chunks of steak, gravy and pie pastry. I’d love to try the other fillings.

Of course I can’t leave without some sweets to take away. I cannot resist the iced vovo lamington – on the first bite, I knew I wasn’t going to leave any for Mr FoodPornJournal haha. It is a bit sweet but boy it tastes SO good, and is super moist.

The mille feuille still has some crunch after the drive home. I like that the vanilla cream is not too sweet which contrasts against the sugary royal icing on top. The bread and butter pudding slice is very dense when I bite into it, so I pop it in the microwave for a few seconds. This does the trick, and the slice becomes super soft and delicious with a scoop of vanilla gelato on top.

Here’s a reel I made of Little Sutton Bakery.

There’s indoor and outdoor seating, seems pet and kid-friendly and it really isn’t too far away from Canberra. Nice for a quick out of town visit.
