A discovery that came out of lockdown are the loaded brownie slabs from Get Crackin (the same team behind Get Crackin Creme Brulee). These are almost 1kg loaded brownie slabs with various toppings to choose from – mars bar, triple choc, peanut butter, biscoff, choc mint, smores and more.
I chose the Mars bar brownie slab. The slab is solid and heavy. When opened up, I can see pieces of Mars bar, chocolate drops, and melted chocolate drizzled across the top. I can smell the sugar coma.
Cut off a slice, put it in a bowl and microwave for a few seconds to make sure they’re warm and the chocolate is melted. These are so gooey and fudgey – great if you’re a chocoholic! And top it off with some vanilla bean gelato. It really hits the spot. The brownie itself doesn’t have Mars bar in it, so it just seems to be in the topping.
If you’re concerned about not being able to finish the whole thing (or finishing off the whole thing without meaning to), do what we did and cut into slices and then freeze them for another day. They warm up really quickly in the microwave.
