January 2024 refresh: It’s been 3 years since I published this list, so it’s now time for a refresh. Here are some all you can eat deals around Canberra at the moment. In no particular order:

Star Buffet

A couple of months ago, I had my first Star Buffet experiene at the Burns Club in Kambah (to the surprise of most of my friends). There’s hot roasts with gravy, chorizo, pork belly, roast duck, dumplings, noodles, honey chicken and similar Chinese dishes, there’s a sushi train, pasta, raw salmon, mussels, salads, soups, desserts, a chocolate fountain, soft serve machines and more. I took turns with Mr FPJ to look after our little one, and as we were late to the sitting, we didn’t actually have much time to eat. But what I liked the most was the delicious roast duck and the Portuguese tarts!

Star Buffet Burns Club Kambah

The website states each sitting is limited to 90 minutes, but I’m not sure whether that’s strictly enforced. Weekday lunch for adults as at January 2024 is $23.80 while dinner is $32.80. Different rates apply for lunch/dinner/weekday/weekend. Drinks are not included but you can pay an extra $4.50 for bottomless soft drinks. Bookings are essential and you need to become a member of the club unless someone can sign you in.

Okami Japanese

Okami Japanese restaurant is open in Mawson and Braddon. There’s no self-serve buffet, instead you order from menu and everything is cooked to order. Yes you can keep ordering more dishes during your sitting. We had a pleasant Sunday lunch experience. Our booking was at 12 noon (when they open) so our food came out very quickly. Our favourites were the prawn gyoza, chicken katsu, sushi and sashimi platter (those thick slices of salmon!) seaweed salad, miso steak and green tea taiyaki. In my opinion, it’s by no means the best Japanese in Canberra but it’s good value for what you get if you can eat a lot.

As at January 2024, the price is $41.80 for adults, with discounted prices for seniors and kids. Children under 4 years eat for free.

You can book a table through their website. I liked that they actually read the notes in the booking form and sat us somewhere out of the way where we could put the pram.

All you can eat wings at Bleachers

Bleachers Sports Bar in Civic has all you can eat wings for $25 every Wednesday from 12.00 – 9.00pm. I’ve not tried the wings but it seems like a pretty good deal!

Bottomless Pasta at Amici

Enjoy bottomless pasta for $30 every Tuesday evening at Amici Bar. There are two sittings available and bookings are essential. I believe there’s only one type of pasta dish available, but the dish changes each week so you could potentially go weekly. You can find the pasta of the week on Amici’s website.

Dookki Korean Tteokbokki Buffet

I stumbled across this Korean buffet at Grazier Lane in Belconnen. This seems to be a global chain. From the signage, dining time is limited to 90 minutes. As at January 2024, prices are $36.80 for adults with cheaper prices for students and children.

Yaki Boi

All you can eat pizzas, burgers, snacks and more at Yaki Boi (both locations – Braddon and Woden) on Mondays. As at January 2024, it costs $38 per person.

Bottomless Mimosa’s at Chifley’s Bar & Grill (and gluten free)

This one is a little sneaky and not advertised heavily. You’ll need to keep an eye out on the Chifley’s Bar & Grill’s website (located in Hotel Kurrajong) for upcoming events. I attended a bottomless mimosa’s set menu lunch a couple of months ago where everything was gluten free including the self-serve dessert table buffet!
