Breakfast @ Gozleme Cafe

I’ve been wanting to try out Gozleme Cafe ever since its big signs went up on London Circuit (close to UniPub) in the city. Gozleme Cafe is only open Monday to Friday for breakfast and lunch. If you don’t work in the city, it can be difficult to find an excuse to visit. I saw […] Read more…

Lunch @ Da Rosario Pizzicheria

I read about some new developments from the team and family behind Mezzalira and Italian and Sons on the Good Food website. The latest venture is a hole in the wall on London Circuit called Da Rosario Pizzicheria, right next to Mezzalira in the Melbourne Building. A pizzicheria is like a delicatessan selling meats, cheeses […] Read more…

Opening night @ Temporada

The guys at Aubergine have entered into a new partnership, bringing us Temporada. I first heard about Temporada after reading a very informative HerCanberra article.  It means ‘seasonal’ in Spanish and offers modern Australian fresh seasonal produce. It’s opening to the public was on Friday and I couldn’t wait to try it out for dinner. […] Read more…

Dumplings @ CBD Dumpling House

CBD Dumpling House opened up a couple of weeks ago at the Canberra Centre. Another new restaurant in the North Quarter after Jamie’s Italian, Papparich and Hero Sushi. I absolutely love dumplings so I headed in for a weekday lunch with my partner. The entrance is in between two buildings (at Scott’s Crossing), just up […] Read more…

Wood-fired pizza @ Dolce & Salato

The first time I went to Dolce & Salato, I noticed the large wood-fired oven in the corner but it wasn’t in action just yet. Just before Christmas, they fired up the oven and I got to try it out earlier this month. Some friends and I shared two pizzas between the three of us. […] Read more…

Vietnamese @ Roll’d

So I’ve heard all this buzz around the Vietnamese street food stall, Roll’d, set up in the Canberra Centre food court. I was going to order the pho but it was a pretty hot day, so I thought a cold pork banh mi (Vietnamese pork roll) would go down better. I ordered the classic pork […] Read more…

Peking duck @ Mr Wei’s

The first time I went to Mr Wei’s, I wasn’t too impressed with the entrees but found the mains were really tasty (and pricey). Specialising in Beijing roast duck (aka Peking duck), I knew I had to come back to try it out. On a Thursday night, some friends and I were deciding where to […] Read more…

Papparich take 2 and 3

Some friends and I headed back to Papparich for dinner one weeknight. We got there at 6pm, however all diners must be present before a table is provided (I’m thinking that might only be the case on weekends). There was quite a queue from 6 and we only waited about 20 minutes after all diners […] Read more…

Coffee @ Farmers Daughter Canberra Centre

Farmers Daughter, a Yarralumla brunch spot, opened up a sister store in the Canberra Centre last week. Located under the escalators near Fitness First and Jamie’s Italian, the shop is quite small and only sells coffee, yummy looking pastries (macarons, tarts, croissants, pain au chocolat) and has a limited breakfast menu as there is no […] Read more…

Discovering Moochi frozen yogurt

Heading into Canberra Centre, I noticed that Moochi frozen yogurt had opened up opposite Big W. This is the fourth froyo shop to open up in Canberra (that I know of) after Yogurtland, Noggi and Nominom. Prices seem a little cheaper than Yogurtland (I spent nearly $10) where yogurt is charged by weight. At Moochi, […] Read more…
