After a short walk through Braddon to get to the city, I noticed a new Italian eatery, Imperioso, had opened up on Lonsdale Street (formerly Farmer’s Daughter). The menu was limited to five pasta dishes, most of which were handmade gnocchi dishes (yum) and some Italian pastries and coffee. The eatery is tiny and only […] Read more…
I had heard about the famous Burmese Curry Place from friends that work in the city. The best and cheapest curry you will find in all of Canberra, I was told. As it’s only open Monday to Friday, it was never a place I could easily get to. Until now. I could smell the hit […] Read more…
A group of friends and I recently caught up for breakfast at Stand By Me in Lyons. I’d been there once before, about two years ago, so it was definitely time to make another visit. Bookings were not accepted on weekends, but we were advised to get there early as the cafe gets packed quickly. […] Read more…
Two Before Ten recently took over from the very short-lived 79&Fine in Civic. I managed to dine there when the Spring menu had just been introduced and found it quite hard to decide what to order. I was really in the mood for ribs one Friday night, so J and I drove down to Tuggeranong to try out Arnold’s Ribs & Pizza near the Hyperdome. Although there were a few tables inside, Arnold’s is mainly a take away joint. We were only there for the ribs and focused on the ribs […] Read more…
I saw fast food chain Pepper Lunch everywhere in Tokyo but found there was always something better to try. When I came back to Canberra, the first Pepper Lunch eatery had opened in Civic. Pepper Lunch is a DIY teppan eatery where the majority of items are cooked by the diner on sizzling hot plates. […] Read more…

Did you know that in Kingston, there is a house where you can buy pizza from its backyard? Okay, so backyard pizza sounds a little dodgy, but it’s completely legit. Pizza Arte has been open for 17 years, first opening its backyard in 1999, and has since been run by the same Romanian family. They […] Read more…
J’s parents live in Tuggeranong and told me about a new cafe at their local Chisholm shops that took over from an old bakery. Located right next to Coles, is newly opened The Public Place. Searching for whatever I could find on them, I saw very cute looking Pokeball cake pops on their Instagram page […] Read more…
