On one of those spur of the moment Saturday brunches, a friend and I decided to head north-side and try brunch at Little Oink in Cook. There are a few tables outside covered in brightly coloured tablecloths. As I stepped inside, the beautiful colours and images painted on the feature wall are the first things […] Read more…
Pod Food in Pialligo recently introduced a breakfast degustation to its weekend menu. 4 breakfast courses (two sweet and two savoury) for $40. I’ve only been to Pod Food for lunch, during my pre-blogging days, and I remember loving every course of the 3-course set lunch menu. I’ve been meaning to go back but never […] Read more…
Tucked away in Bailey’s Corner in Civic, lies cute newly named cafe Tree Eighty3, replacing the Yum Yum Tree. One of my blog readers contacted me to check it out. So on a free Saturday morning, I headed down with my partner for brunch. At first, Tree Eighty3 looks like a take away shop with […] Read more…
After receiving news that Lonsdale Street Roasters’ brand new kitchen was open, I headed in one morning to try out breakfast. I made my way to the counter where a massive blackboard with the menu written in chalk hangs against the wall. I see that Flute Bakery bread is used at LSR 23 as they […] Read more…
On a cold grey morning, some friends and I decided to brunch at the recently opened Tranquilo Espresso, which replaces Four Buds cafe. Located on the ground floor of the Mode 3 building on Lonsdale Street, the small cafe faces Autolyse and Lonsdale Street Roasters 23. The cafe is in a small nook with just […] Read more…
A few friends and I stopped in at Common Grounds Cafe in Gowrie for brunch one Saturday morning. I’d never heard of this cafe until reading a Canberra Weekly article about the place. Located at the Gowrie shops in Tuggeranong, the cafe is easy to find. Just follow the signs to the shops. At 10am, […] Read more…
I used to grab take-away lunch in Woden from a cafe called Pure Oxygen. They made some fantastic toasted sandwiches. To my dismay, they closed down the Woden shop to move to Deakin under new management and a new name – Doubleshot. That was late last year. I finally made it there over the Anzac […] Read more…
Some friends and I wanted to try out Chatterbox in Belconnen and made it there one Saturday morning. There are bright yellow banners displayed outside so you can’t miss it. When I got there, all outdoor tables were taken. Must be a popular spot with the locals. I love the wall of potted plants inside […] Read more…
I’ve been to Poachers Pantry a few times for lunch and dinner, but have never managed to go for weekend brunch until last weekend. Fortunately, after a whole week of rain, the Saturday morning we had booked in for brunch was sunny and warm. Poachers Pantry is about a 25 minute drive from the city […] Read more…
I’ve been wanting to try out Gozleme Cafe ever since its big signs went up on London Circuit (close to UniPub) in the city. Gozleme Cafe is only open Monday to Friday for breakfast and lunch. If you don’t work in the city, it can be difficult to find an excuse to visit. I saw […] Read more…
