Andre’s Osteria

I’ve been to André’s a few times now, and it’s quickly become one of my go-to spots in Weston Creek for Italian cuisine. This classy little bistro offers a relaxed yet refined dining experience that never disappoints.

Though no longer on the menu, I still think about the stracciatella with charred leeks, heirloom beetroots and honey ($21). (I loved it so much so that it landed in my Top 9 dishes for 2025.) This is presented so elegantly. It not only looks amazing but tastes just as good. The combination of creamy cold stracciatella, sticky honey, and earthy sweetness of beetroot is a winner. It’s also a pleasant and fresh start to lunch.

On my last visit, I enjoy the lobster lollipop with a herb tahini sauce ($12 each) there’s plenty of meat on this one, making it a real treat. And the carbonara arancini with crispy guanciale ($9).

My main reason for visiting is for the daily handmade pasta.

I cannot go past the linguine with cherry tomatoes, scallops and prawns ($36). It’s a staple on the menu for good reason. The pasta is cooked al dente, and the dish feels wonderfully simple, with the seafood taking centre stage. If you love seafood, this one’s a must, and I’d definitely order it again. Can’t help but lick my lips after each bite.

The mafaldine with lamb shoulder ragu ($33) is a standout. The lamb is incredibly tender, falling apart with just a touch of the fork, and the pasta itself is perfectly cooked. It’s just a beautiful dish all around.

My friend tries the spaghetti alla norma with eggplant, tomato and ricotta salata ($27). Even without any meat, it’s got a thick and rich ragu and my friend really enjoys this.

For dessert, I order the tiramisu ($13). It’s light and well balanced. The whipped cream on top has some added sugar but it’s not too sweet. There’s a layer of light chocolate cream in the middle – again not too sweet or rich, so it doesn’t detract from the overall traditional taste. The pistachio crème brulee is also delicious. Perfect caramelisation on top. Don’t be put off by the slightly green texture, it is so smooth, creamy, nutty and sweet. A couple of lovely desserts to finish off our lunch.

Next time, I’m coming back for the lamb ribs and more of that incredible pasta.

The vibe is laid-back, casual elegance. It’s the kind of place where you can savour your meal, enjoy a glass of wine, and settle into conversation without feeling rushed.
