All you can eat yumcha at Oh No in Manuka occurs on the first Sunday of each month (now $55 per person). My friend that made our booking received the yum cha menu via email a couple days before our lunch so they must change it up each time. I am very excited to see such a large selection of dishes. I dine in with a group of 7 and must admit I go in with low expectations. However I’m happy that I got a really good experience here!

We are given a sheet of paper to fill in quantities of each dish, and told to wave someone down when we’re ready to order. With only half the people in our group seated, we decide to order anyway. Most of the dumpling dishes are in serves of 2-3, so we make sure we order enough for everyone. Once the sheet is given for our first order, we’re given a new sheet for any further orders.
If you’re feeling boozy, there’s a short selection of beers, wine and cocktails on the menu. Mr FPJ opts for a Japanese Bloody Mary ($19) and I stick with Chinese tea. You can also go bottomless for an extra $35 per person.

From the steamed section we try:
- Truffle pork and prawn siu mai
- Pork siu mai
- Prawn har gow
- Vegetable dumplings
- Prawn and spinach dumpling
- Pan fried bbq pork buns
- Pan fried chicken and wombok gyoza
There’s even three types of gluten-free dumplings available

From the fried section, we try:
- Sticky pork dumplings
- Prawn puff
- Vege spring rolls
- Prawn bean curd skin roll
- Prawn donut – I tried this as part of the regular Oh NO Menu and it’s a must try!
- Tempura eggplant
- Salt and pepper calamari

From the work and sh*t section, we try:
- Baked pork buns,
- ‘Dad’s egg fried rice’
- BBQ pork belly
- Gai lan in oyster sauce
- XO beans

From the ‘Sweet Things’ section:
- Custard bun
- Mango pudding with condensed milk

The first couple of dishes to arrive come out very quickly, and then there is a noticeable half hour wait for the rest to come out. After that, we receive items in quick succession after ordering. Perhaps the strategy is to just order everything at the start, but we didn’t want to waste any food (note there’s a wastage charge).
We are all extremely full before our 1 hour and 45 minutes dining time is up. I’m really impressed that the dumplings are so fat and juicy. There’s no level of blandness (which is what I was most worried about) from this experience. My favourites are the fried rice, prawn donut, sticky pork dumplings (filled with glutinous rice and pork mince), actually I’m happy with all the dumplings, and the mango pudding. There are two serves of pork belly ordered so that’s a definite favourite in the group too.
Some T&Cs to note:
Bookings are for 1 hour and 45 minutes. No modifications to the yum cha menu. No take away. Any remaining food will be charged at $15 per dish.
