Burrito @ Frank and Beanz

I was shopping out at Majura Park and stopped to have a quick lunch. I noticed Frank and Beanz – a shop selling hot dogs, burritos, quesadillas, nachos and more. It claims to be a gourmet, healthy, fast food alternative.

I ordered a classic – the beef burrito ($10.50) consisting of beef chilli con carne, lime mayo, seasoned rice, beans, lettuce, chopped up tomato salsa and sour cream all in a soft tortilla. I really enjoyed this burrito and it actually did have a spicy kick to it. There was a nice mix of all ingredients though I would have preferred a bit more rice. Heaps of beef and some beans at the bottom. Tasty! I was also happy with the portion size – big enough to fill me up but not leave me agonizingly full.

Gluten free and vegetarian options are also available. I’ll have to try one of their hot dogs next time and their sweet dessert dog – warm honey brioche buns, stuffed with gooey chocolate brownie, topped with whipped cream, strawberries and chocolate sauce! Sounds artery clogging so perhaps I can share it.

Though in a faraway location compared to other foodie hangouts, Frank and Beanz provides some competition to the likes of Snag Stand, Bing Bang, Beach Burrito Company and Guzman & Gomez.
