Knead Patisserie bake an assortment of bread, pastries and cakes.
Located indoors at the Belconnen Fresh Food markets, there is a cute patio out the front with tables and chairs for people to sit. Their cute blackboard shows they also do simple lunches such as soup, sandwiches using their freshly baked bread, sausage rolls and meat pies. By the time I got there in the late afternoon, there wasn’t much left.
I decided on the yummy looking rocky road ($4) and macadamia tart ($5). The rocky road was made up of dark chocolate, marshmallows, candied cherries, peanuts, pistachios and coconut. Expecting something quite hard to bite into (like the Darrell Lea rocky road), I grabbed a knife to slice through it. The knife wasn’t needed as it was lovely and soft. Delicious! Not a huge fan of candied cherries but there weren’t too many of them and I demolished the whole thing quite easily.
The macadamia tart was a little burnt at the bottom. You can see the little bubbles from the caramelisation on top. Cutting a chunk off, the whole macadamias are sitting on what seems like a gelatinous cinnamon golden syrup. Quite sweet but yum!
I will be going back to buy a loaf of bread and to try out more of their pastries and cakes 🙂
