This post is an amalgamation of the times I’ve visited the Flute Bakery and their tasty treats. I’d heard of Flute Bakery from several people, but as they’re opening times are Monday to Friday 9am-3pm, it’s almost impossible to visit. Earlier this year, on a day off, I decided to check this place out for afternoon tea and a good book. In an odd location in the industrial area of Fyshwick, you can’t miss it, as there are tables, chairs and outdoor umbrellas on the little front patio. There are a wide variety of little cakes, pastries and macarons. I couldn’t help but get excited at all the colours and types of cakes. No photos of the display cabinet are allowed, but they are happy for you to take photos of the food after you’ve purchased it. Photos from the last few times I’ve visited:
The 10 textured milk chocolate and white chocolate cake – what can I say but WOW! Absolutely loved this and could’ve kept eating
Surprisingly, the pistachio cake was the standout cake. It had some layer of I think toffee in the middle to give it crunch. Just the right amount of sponge and creaminess too. So good!
I’ve also had a chance to try a work colleague’s triple chocolate mousse cake (no photo) – white, milk and dark chocolate. So light and fluffy – so moorish. They also do pies and sausage rolls but I have yet to try them.
The cakes at Flute are phenomenal. That is all.
