Lebanese bakery and cafe, Al Manoosh, is a popular cafe with the locals and the Lebanese community. It was great to see this small cafe packed with everyone enjoying the cuisine. The menu includes breakfast items like foul and shakshuka, and there are plenty of Lebanese pizzas in different categories such as meat, labne, eggs, and cheese. There’s also a dessert section that includes knafe!

For breakfast one morning, I ordered shakshuka ($12) which is topped with two eggs and lots of fetta. Both the eggs were hard by the time it reached me, but other than that, I really enjoyed the flavours in the tomato mix with capsicum, onion and garlic. It also comes with two pieces of Lebanese bread. Great value for only $12 and a hearty meal.

We also tried the meat and cheese pizza (literally what it’s called on the menu) ($10) which is loaded with mince, herbs and spices. We sneakily saved some of the crusts to dip into the shakshuka. There’s also the meat version without the cheese for only $8.

I’ve also tried the Might Kafta pizza ($12) on another outing topped with kafta mince, tomatoes, pickles, basil and mayo. Everything on here worked – the tartness of the pickles perfectly balanced out the meatiness of the pizza.

There are some tables inside and outside but they fill up very quickly. Our meals took a little longer to arrive but I could see plenty of take away orders coming out of the kitchen. I’m keen to go back to try more including some dessert. Great value cheap and tasty food that’s full of flavour.
