On a Saturday morning at Loading Zone, it was only a short wait to get a table for 6 people (they don’t take bookings). The previous time I was here for brunch, I ordered the baked eggs which were divine. As much as I wanted to order it again, I thought I’d better try something different and ordered the parmesan and basil stirred eggs with mushroom and bacon ($17). This was really just creamy scrambled eggs with basil stirred through out sitting on top of a piece of bread. I thought the bacon had a lot of fat on it and was sitting in a small pool of oil on the plate. A mediocre dish but not as good as the baked eggs.

Food porn of my friend’s dishes – the hotcakes with maple mascarpone, walnuts and pear. Looked awesome!

As always, service is friendly, quick and professional. Tables and chairs are clean, and the whole outdoor area is swept clean of leaves etc. Noise levels are comparable to other cafes, I didn’t feel like I needed to shout to speak to my friends. However since Loading Zone are the only cafe open in that back alleyway, most of the noise tends to just drift away. Great spot for brunch and their pasta lunches on weekdays are fresh and amazing! I’d like to try this place out for dinner one night too.
