Having walked through the Cooleman Court shops a few times now (my local shops soon!) I’ve seen the sign for Baitong Laos and Thai Cuisine and have been meaning to try it out. A fellow work foodie and I managed to duck out for a weekday lunch to give it a go.

My foodie friend suggested the hor mok fish – steamed fish with fresh herbs, chilli and coconut milk. And wow was this packed with flavour! Mainly chilli and coriander. I recommend this dish if you like fish and don’t mind coriander.

We also ordered the braised pork neck with tamarind sauce. Decent cuts of fresh pork, nice and tender, which went really well with the tamarind sauce.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the good was. This place is a little hidden gem in Weston Creek. Good food at good prices. Best of all, the waitstaff are so friendly and polite. Apologising for the wait (there really was not much of a wait) as the fish had to be steamed for a while. Will definitely be going back to this place.
